Water- a neccessity or luxury?
You may be wondering why I haven’t posted in a while. I’m sorry, but I was detained. I’ll try to make sure such events don’t happen again. I haven’t ignored my blog though; I have been getting ideas of what to put on my posts so that my blog dramatically improves. If you are reading this post, then I am thankful to you. Anyway, I thought I’d pick the content of this post as how luxurious water can be. This post will be telling you about the audio and visual nirvana of water. I thought this would be good because it might get you interested in water. And if you get interested in water, you might try to conserve it.
You all know how divine some sounds may be. Many people are relaxed by the sound of water, may it be the sound of waves crashing at the beach, the spouting of water at a fountain or even an audio CD of relaxing sounds. This kind of relaxation can really soothe the mind and lower your stress levels. Even calm waters can have peaceful sounds. Try to listen to as many water sounds as possible when you feel you are emotionally upset or stressed or the like as they can take you away from the hectic life of today.
We have five senses and we have to use them all in the best way we can to enjoy life. Only hearing the sounds of water will make life incomplete. An incomplete life is not what everyone wants. So we will also be using our other four senses too. The last one covered in this post is the sense of sight.
We all want to give our eyes a treat. This can be done through panoramic scenes. These can really relax your eyes and mind. Calm waters are really blissful to watch and rough waters stimulate you and stir up excitement (or fear). I hope this makes you interested cause if it does, you have a treat in store for you in the next posts.

More motivation
Value of waterWater is a wonderful material. It is involved in almost everything we use (or not) in some way, some so indirect we may not realize them, but they do. Take for instance, paper. Water is used for the growth of trees from which paper is made. People who make paper need water to live. Machinery used for making paper also needs water for maintenance. Transportation of paper also requires water, both for the people transferring it and for the vehicles they use. Shopkeepers drink water and we, the people who use paper also need water. Understood? There are many other situations like these. Try to analyze them. It will really help and be fun.
The fun part of getting yourself motivated will be on the next post. Do read it and post your comments so I can concentrate on catering to your needs.
Get inspired...
- Try to go 3 hours without any drinks. You’ll really see water in a new light. By 3 hours, I don’t mean while you are sleeping.
- Remember that without water, your favorite drinks will also be in short supply. Water recreation will also be at an all time low.
- Most of the materials used today have water involved in their production. This means all your favorite items will be affected.
- Water is used in electricity. Just think.
- Try to like water more. In the next post, I will try to help you see water in a new light.

Hiding The Truth
Welcome back. This time I’ve prepared a list of the ‘hidden’ ways in which water is wasted. Here they are:
- Showers:
While we spend a lot of time in the shower, we don’t realize that we are wasting around a litre of water every minute. Take short showers or use much more economic methods of washing yourself.
- Gardening
Most people just spray water all over their garden and this leads to mucho wasto. Water only the plants.
- Playing
Playing around with water (not swimming) is okay once in a while and you may feel you are not wasting much water. However, most of these playtime activities may waste much more water than you think. If you really want to play, fill a bucket with water and use only that water. See 20 litres waste away and learn your lesson.
- Leaking taps
This may seem like a small problem but a leaking tap can waste 1200 litres of water per year. Insist on getting the taps fixed right now!!!
- Thirst
Cut down on really salty food such as chips so that you don’t feel thirsty all the time. If you are thirsty, drink water right now so that your thirst doesn’t build up, causing you to drink more. However, it is always necessary to quench your thirst and I will not be responsible for any dehydration or anything.
- Production
Production uses a lot of water both for the creation of objects and to maintain the machines. Try to recycle things.
Here is a short table showing how much water is used in an average day.
| Purpose | Water Used (litres) |
| Drinking | 3 |
| Cooking | 4 |
| Bathing | 20 |
| | 40 |
| Washing Clothes | 40 |
| Washing Utensils | 20 |
| Gardening | 13 |
Total=140 litres
